If village children do not attend our schools, their alternatives are extremely limited.
Most would skip pre-school altogether. The rural Government schools are overcrowded and underfunded, and often go only up to the 5th Grade. Learning is done mainly through rote memorization.

The School Fund finances the Joyful Learning project and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum implementation.
Joyful Learning & Activity-Based Learning for Grades K-5
At age 3, students enter the Joyful Learning program. Hands-on activities develop children’s confidence in their own abilities and help them to express themselves.
Students develop creativity, critical thinking, empathy, teamwork, integrity, and a lifelong love for learning.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for grades 6-12
As the school begins incorporating this new initiative, it is opening a gateway to an education that the most affluent students in India receive, and from which village children are often excluded.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national qualification that is recognized across India and the world. It builds conceptual understanding, good communication skills, and holistic growth.
230 million people in India lived in poverty in 2023. 80% of these people are in rural areas, where female illiteracy rates are around 50%.
The young people who are coming up through the schools we support are capable of so much, if given the chance to excel.
