The School Fund

The schools we support are at the forefont of creating an educational environment that nurtures the highest potential of teachers and students alike.

Changing the Way Education is Done

For years, students throughout India have been taught that learning means rote memorization in preparation for an all-important State exam. However, in today’s world, change is the only constant. Students need to be skilled at critical thinking, adaptability, self-responsibility, technology, communication and so much more.

Joyful Learning

The Kindergarten class at the SSA elementary school is fostering independence, confidence and creative thinking among its young students using Montessori-inspired techniques. The hope is that Joyful Learning will be expanded to a new class each year so that all 5 grade levels will be using these teaching methods by 2030.

Hybrid Learning

Our schools are desperately underfunded. Your gifts have launched a build-out for critical infrastructure and have led to a significant shift in ways of thinking about education. Continued financial support is needed to build on this early success.

Faculty and students have undergone rigorous training in more holistic, interactive and collaborative methods of teaching and learning. Classrooms are now fully equipped with internet access, laptops for the teachers, and projectors. Teachers regularly collaborate to develop online curricula.

The new online infrastructure offers a crucially important building block for meaningful 21st century education. These basic technologies have been used in U.S. schools for 10-20 years, but are completely new to the teachers here. All 70 teachers are now eager to learn online teaching skills and to have access to the extensive new resources available online.

The young people who are coming up through the schools we support are capable of so much, if given the chance to excel. Your contributions to the School Fund help to make that happen.
